I have a specific gift in mind that's not on your registry.

We love how thoughtful you’re being! While we’ve created a registry to help guide you, we absolutely welcome any special gifts you have in mind. If you have something unique or personal you'd like to give, we’d be so grateful.

Transportation will not be provided, however we will have parking vouchers available - please let us know during your RSVP if you are planning on using one.

Where do you recommend I stay?

We do not have any hotel blocks for our event, however you can check out our travel page for our recommendations on where to stay.

What should I see nearby?

There is so much to do and see in Portland, if you are staying in the area past our event then check out a few of our recommended places.

How do I get to the venue?

Located just across the Willamette River from downtown, OMSI is easy to access by car, train, streetcar, bicycle or on foot. A wide sidewalk and well-marked pedestrian and bike lanes make strolling across the Hawthorne Bridge a breeze. The Portland Streetcar’s Central Loop and MAX Light Rail Orange Line offer easy access to the museum without the headache of hunting for parking.

What weather can I expect?

You can expect cool temperatures with daytime highs around 58°F. It’s likely to be partly cloudy with a chance of rain. Our event will be fully indoors, however if you are touring during the day we recommend a light water resistant jacket (no umbrellas or you look like a tourist!), and consider waterproof footwear or accessories to stay dry during potential rain showers.
Weather patterns can vary, so it's a good idea to check for updated forecasts as the date approaches.

Wedding Day

Will the events be indoors or outdoors?

All our events will be indoors, including traveling from the ceremony to reception.

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

At 6:00pm the doors will be closed and we will not be able to allow anyone in after the designated start time. It’s a special occasion, and we want everyone to be there to enjoy the ceremony from the beginning, so please plan to arrive a little early to get settled and get ready to celebrate with us!

We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing all white to the wedding, as this color is reserved for the bride.

Is it ok to take pictures with our phones & cameras during the wedding?

We kindly ask that guests refrain from taking pictures with their phones or cameras during the ceremony. We’ve hired a professional photographer to capture all the beautiful moments, and we want to ensure the lighting and angles are perfect without distractions. We’ll be sharing all the photos with you afterward, so you won’t miss a thing! We appreciate your understanding and can’t wait to see you there!

What should I expect after the ceremony?

After the ceremony, we’ll be kicking off a cocktail hour; where you can enjoy drinks, appetizers, and mingle with others. Meanwhile, immediate family members will be joining us for photos. If you’re one of those special people chosen for photos, don’t worry — you’ll be notified in advance!

If you have picked something from our registry please feel free to mail items to us, however if you have something separate planned we will also have a table for gifts and cards at the reception.

are there other site restrictions we should be aware of?

While we have worked to include all our details here, if we haven't covered something please look at the museum guidelines (here) for additional questions.

What is the dress code?

For men, semi-formal typically means a dress shirt with trousers, and a blazer or sport coat. You can pair this with dress shoes or loafers, and a tie or bow tie is optional, but can elevate the look. Think of it as looking sharp without going full-on tuxedo. For women, semi-formal attire often includes a cocktail dress or a dressy skirt and top combo. You can also opt for a sleek jumpsuit or a chic pantsuit. Pair it with heels or dressy flats and accessories that add a polished touch. The key is to look elegant without being overly formal.
